Teachers of the Year Honored

At the May 11, 2021, Dinwiddie County School Board meeting, Emily Branch, director of human resources, and Christie Clarke, director of school and community relations, presented the awards for Teachers of the Year and Outstanding New Teachers of the Year.  Dinwiddie County Public Schools honors each of these dedicated professionals on their outstanding contributions to education.

These teachers exhibit expert knowledge, collaborate well with colleagues, are able to express themselves articulately, and are dedicated and skilled teachers who love to help encourage, instruct and support students to achieve in their academic careers.

Megan Moore, Division Teacher of the Year

In addition, Magen Moore was named the Division Teacher of the Year. Moore is a Title I Reading Interventionist  with 19 years in the education profession, all of which have been with Dinwiddie County Public Schools .  Following in her father’s footsteps, she entered the teaching profession receiving a bachelor’s degree in human development and a master’s in education.  She is involved in numerous civic and professional organizations and was named as a “20 to Watch” in the 2017-2018 school year.  Her philosophy of teaching is positive student and parent relationships and literacy, as she takes this as the greatest factors in harnessing student success. Magen will represent Dinwiddie County Public Schools in our Regional Teacher of the Year competition.
